Runners in the Sun

Bored with the same old workout? Each year there are new fitness crazes and trends that seem to come into play. Every person is going to have their likes and dislikes but if you are but you may want to check out a few of the hottest trends for 2019.

Some of these trends include everything from new classes, technology, and self-guided workouts.

1. Fitness Classes for Older Adults

Over 35% of adult population is suffering from chronic obesity in the US today.

Especially since it’s not easy to stay active in this automated world, we must continue to build strength and mobility so that we are more agile in our later years.

Fitness classes, especially designed for older adults aim at keeping the age group fit and fine. The body gets vulnerable to diseases and chronic ailments we touch 40.

2. New Zumba

Don’t laugh! Zumba is getting a new make-over. Mixing Zumba with a core workout to create workout classes will be taking off in 2019.

These classes help strengthening the mental aspect along with taking care of the physical body.

3. Ninja Warrior Gyms

With the extreme success of “American Ninja Warrior”, this has inspired people all around the country to start training in this type of discipline.

These gyms offer a variety of different training obstacles and courses that mimic some of the actual obstacles on the real show.

There currently are about 18 of these gyms in the United States, but I bet the number grow rapidly as the popularity continues to grow.

There are also other warrior-type gyms that are incorporating pieces of the popular T.V. show along with other parkour classes to attract a different type of audience that enjoys just your typical boot camp classes. Sounds fun.

4. Mobile-Friendly Fitness Studios & Personal Training

We are all on our phones constantly anyway so why not use them as the easiest fitness tool you already own! If you don’t use a mobile fitness app yet, you are missing out. Exercise from your living room. No more excuses.

5. Extreme Trampoline Classes

Yes trampoline classes! This is a brand new type of class, it looks silly, but it’s a very cardio-intensive workout that is low impact and is easy on your your joints.

6. Yoga H.I.I.T Classes

7. Shorter Workouts

As people continue to get crunched for time, having shorter workouts with high-intensity training intervals will continue to be the craze.

One can easily get hold of good full-body H.I.I.T workouts on the net.

As long as you are doing the right amount of intensity, 15 minutes might be all that you need.Walking is another form of easy exercise. Nothing is good as walking which not only keeps weight under control but imparts cardiovascular benefits too.

8. Better Ways To Loosen Muscles

Since the percussion gun made its debut in 2018, it has gotten more and more popular and will continue its trend in 2019.

These devices are designed to accelerate and enhance the repair of torn muscle fibers.

Many of the hardcore gym guys that lift heavy use percussion therapy to help repair their muscles quicker.

9. Work & Working Merging

You might have noticed more and more gyms offering places where people can pull out their laptops at a workstation and connecting to the gym’s wi-fi.

Not only is it happening at the gym, but it’s happening at work as well.  More workplaces are incorporating small gyms where people can go during their lunch hours and get a quick job or weight lifting session in.

10. Treadmill workouts & audio-guided runs

Imagine using a private indoor cycling studio in your own home? Seriously it’s a combination of fun + fitness.

The incumbent bike is set up in your home, and the program streams live video in from their home.On top of this, vendors offer over 5,000+ on-demand workouts you can choose from to fit your busy schedule.

The other workout trend centers around audio classes such as Equinox’s Precision Running classes. These classes were design by David Siik and are defined with expertly-crafted classes, innovate spaces, and on-the-go workouts.

No matter what exercise you decide to do, any exercise is better than no exercise.

Keep it fun and, if you have a workout partner, it is likely to keep you more accountable to your goals.
